THE SOUTH COAST ITALIAN ASSOCIATION
The South Coast Italian Association (SCIA) is a non-profit organisation founded in 2016 and based largely in Worthing, but also caters to the surrounding areas in the rest of the Sussex. The SCIA aims to bring together the local Italian community and promote integration by upholding traditions and promoting the best of Italian culture. Highly reminiscent of the activities organised by Italian migrants who arrived in the area after the Second World War, they have hosted a variety of community events in the last year, including:

-
Italian film nights
-
Scopa* socials
-
Barbecues
-
Dinners and dance events
-
Charity events

The SCIA were incredibly helpful in providing a substantial amount of background information which assisted greatly in the early stages of the research process of this project. They also generously circulated project advertisements to their members and social media followers, and posted on their website. Their kindness and assistance has been gratefully received and they cannot be thanked enough for their support.
